Ponds Construction Laborer

Location:

Job Description:

Join one of the leading landscape firms in the United States with over 55 years of industry experience! The Bruce Company of WI, Inc. is currently recruiting for motivated and talented individuals to join our Ponds department.

Required Experience:

Candidates must be willing to work full-time hours in all types of weather conditions from April through the end of November as well as having the availability to do snow removal in the winter months. Qualified applicants must also possess the following: have the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.; be attentive to detail; take direction well; excellent customer service and communication skills; and a valid driver’s license in good standing. Water feature construction experience preferred. Hours may vary during our peak season (April-July 50-55). and regular season (July-Nov 40-45). Saturday’s and out of town work may be required as workload dictates.

Pay is based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

Main responsibilities include but not limited to: excavating and shaping of ponds; installation of pond liners, filters, pumps, etc; and setting of rock and stone.

Required Experience:

Candidates should have some knowledge of installation of residential irrigation systems, as well as the ability to provide excellent customer service. The job requires the ability to work on a crew to install irrigation systems at the project assigned. Good communication skills are a must. Previous experience in installing irrigation systems is preferred and a valid driver’s license in good standing with a satisfactory driving record is required. Availability for snow removal during the winter months is also a must.

Required Experience:

Candidates must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more, whom may be handling cement statuary; large pots; potting soils; fertilizers and chemicals; as well as garden tools and accessories. Qualified applicants must have excellent customer service and communication skills, basic math and computer skills; the willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and be exposed to all inside/outside elements.

Job Responsibilities:

Duties include but not limited to: carrying of store merchandise purchased by customers; general assembly of displays; general cleaning and organizing the store; and assisting other store associates as needed.

We have several temporary positions with full and part-time hours available in our Retail Nursery and Greenery department. If you have previous retail sales experience and proven customer service skills, we want to talk to you!

Required Experience:

Applicants must possess the following: excellent customer service and communication skills; willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and around plants without allergenic concern; ability to take direction; ability to anticipate customer and department needs; some knowledge of plants is helpful but will train the right person; basic computer knowledge; ability to work in a team environment and the ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs.

The Nursery positions require the operating of equipment (Bobcat and/or forklift).

The Bruce Company has openings in our Landscape Management department for a Lawn Care Specialist.

Required Experience:

Applicants must have prior pesticide application experience and/or a Pesticide Applicator License. Qualified applicants must have 1-2 years of field experience or a category 3.0 pesticide applicator’s license and knowledge of landscape maintenance and pesticide chemicals. Candidates must be willing to work full-time hours in all types of weather conditions from April through the end of November as well as having the availability to do snow removal in the winter months. This position requires a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Job Responsibilities:

Main duties include but not limited to: applying pesticides to turf grass areas according to pesticide regulations; identify pest problems and appropriate solutions and make proper measurements of chemicals for applications.

If you possess a CDL, we want to talk to you! We currently are in search of a dependable, talented and motivated individual to join our Landscape Management Team.

Required Experience:

Qualified individuals should have the following: possess a CDL class ABCD with air brake endorsement; a desire to work outside in varying weather conditions; availability for snow removal in the winter months; availability to work 40-50 hours a week; ability to lift 50 lbs. or more; and the desire to learn about different aspects of the business. Experience in driving in a CDL capacity and manual transmission preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

Main responsibilities include but not limited to: assist with installations of compost and mulch materials on jobsites in both Racine and Milwaukee locations; work with backpack blower; move hoses manually; and general maintenance as required.
